Indoor Cycle Class

Have you always wanted to try an indoor cycle class but found it intimidating?   Does a sweaty room of fitness fanatics and a commanding instructor make you say "No way Jose?"   We understand that walking through the door and committing yourself to an indoor cycling class, is a scary thing to do for the first time.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Indoor Cycling offers an outstanding cardio workout with minimal impact on bones and joints. As a rider, you control how hard or easy the class is by adding or releasing flywheel resistance on the bike. Instructors guide participants through an organized class format, but ultimately, the rider determines how hard they work. After all, it is just a stationary bike...you really can't do anything wrong!!! Other participants and the instructor cannot see your resistance level and there is never a reason to feel self conscious. If you need to take a break (and all beginners do), choose light resistance and go at your own pace. At times, the instructor will ask the class to come out of the "saddle" or "stand up in the pedals." Typically, this is the hardest format to maintain. New riders always have the option of sitting down at any time. After all, it is YOUR class!!! 

The music volume at CG can be LOUD.   If you would like earplugs, we offer them, at no charge, at the front desk.  

We do NOT "Edit" our instructors. 

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW?

When scheduling, scroll over class name, to get a brief description of a class. 
As mentioned, we do not "edit" our instructors. Music volume/tastes are up to them. 

Find the class and instructor that appeals to YOU.  

After all, it is YOUR workout and we want YOU to love it!!!

CG  offers a variety of classes and believes in the power of diversity.

It is our goal to offer a non impact cardio option, for everyone!

Changing Gears is proud to offer traditional styled CG Cycle (Spin® or Spinning®) CG Rhythm classes, and CG PIQ performance based classes. 

 
Reserving classes

We have adopted a reservation based system to ensure you get the bike you want, in the class style you want, with the musical taste you want. 

We want you to be happy with us!  We don't want to surprise anyone by being full and not having a bike available for you to use.  This way you know its there waiting for you!

 
WHAT IS CG PIQ?
Introduce yourself to the latest in indoor cycling technology called Performance IQ!!!

CG PIQ Intro classes allow participants to become familiar with the displayed leader board and are not designed to be competitive in any way.

Once enrolled in a CG PIQ class, your instructor will guide you through class with "power-or watts" displayed on monitors in our studio.     Real time power, brings out the best in everyone.  Competition can be with oneself, other class "frienamies" , or sometimes... even other studios.  The leader board phenomenon, brings out the riders inner athlete and individual data tracking, offers measurable results!!!

There is always an option to "opt~out" of data tracking with a CB2 IQ class.   All bikes have the "opt~out" feature, when signing up, for this class.  

 

SHOES
 Any athletic shoe will be fine for your first indoor cycling class.
All bikes are SPD/Look/KEO compatible.  They all also have toe cages.

Once you feel committed to continue indoor cycle we strongly recommend purchasing a pair of cycle shoes.  They will enhance your riding experience.

 
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
 

Wear what you are comfortable working out in.  Bike shorts are not necessary.

We have classes designed to help you get started! Regardless of how out of shape you feel, Changing Gears® welcomes you in a non~judging, friendly, and safe environment. 


WILL I BE SADDLE SORE?
Um Yes! But don't worry, that goes away after a few classes. 

Seriously it does go away!

The key to achieving fitness results is consistency. If it is FUN, you will not even think twice about scheduling doctor appointments, shopping, or any other class around your CB2 class!
