Canella was introduced to yoga in 1997 as a way of balancing an intense physical fitness routine. She found that yoga allowed her to rest and repair her mind and body after vigorous activity. As Canella explored the world of yoga, she fell in love with this ancient science and it's adaptability. After several years of practice, Canella realized how yoga helped her cope with many challenges in her life and began a deeper journey of study. In 2009 she graduated from YogaOptions RYS where she studied with Joanne Wahrer RYT E500 & T500. Canella is registered nationally through the Yoga Alliance with a 200 hour certification. She has studied asana, pranayama, meditation, and yoga philosophy. Today, her regular practice of yoga enhances her overall performance in running, cycling and snowboarding.
Canella guides her classes with a mixture of humor, love, and vulnerability. Students are encouraged to connect with their bodies in a graceful and accepting manner while cultivating strength, focus and balance. Alignment and safety are key as she teaches, with modifications as her main focus. Canella's teaching styles include Hatha Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Partner Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Aqua Yoga.
